Dele Alli is a 30-year-old English footballer, the former Tottenham and England midfielder who scored at the 2018 World Cup. He has been without a club since leaving Como in September 2025, is single after splitting from model Cindy Kimberly, and is now streaming on Twitch while he trains for a comeback.

Trending since October 2026

Why is Dele Alli trending?

His new Twitch channel has passed 150,000 followers, and clips of him phoning old team-mates such as Harry Kane live on stream have gone viral, as clubs and former bosses talk about where he could play next.

Is Dele Alli on Twitch?

Yes. Dele started streaming on Twitch in late September 2026 and has streamed more than 20 hours in his first month, with his longest chat stream lasting almost five hours. He streams from his London home and out and about, watches back his old goals with fans, plays music and shows his gym sessions.

The streams that went viral were his cold calls to former team-mates. Jack Grealish, James Maddison and Eric Dier were among those he rang. Harry Kane picked up and said: “What’s going on? I’ve not spoken to you for a while, mate.” When Dele told him the chat was chanting about the Ballon d’Or, Kane turned the conversation back to him and asked if he was “working hard”. Earlier in October he also streamed from Tottenham’s stadium with YouTuber Danny Aarons.

Some fans have questioned whether streaming means he has given up on football. Dele’s answer: “Guys, you can do more than one thing.” He says he can finish training, recover and “be on stream by six”.

Where is Dele Alli now?

Dele is a free agent and has not played a professional match since March 2025. He says he trains five or six times a week. In March 2026 Tottenham let him use their training ground for fitness work, he has hired the pitch at Windsor & Eton FC, and he was reported to have trained with West Ham in the summer.

Clubs have shown interest. His former MK Dons manager Karl Robinson says he offered him a move to League Two side Salford City this summer, and Barnet boss Dean Brennan says the “doors are open” after Dele trained at the club’s facilities. Reports earlier in 2026 also linked him with Spanish clubs including Sevilla, Getafe, Elche and Real Oviedo. None has led to a contract yet.

Has Dele Alli retired?

What happened to Dele Alli?

Dele was one of the best young players in Europe at Tottenham, but his form dipped after 2019 and he became a fringe player under Jose Mourinho and then Antonio Conte. He joined Everton in January 2022 on a free transfer that could have risen to £40 million with appearances, but played only 13 Premier League games for them.

A season-long loan at Besiktas in Turkey in 2022/23 brought three goals before a hip injury, and a groin injury then kept him out of the whole 2023/24 season. His Everton contract ran out in June 2024.

Why was Dele Alli’s Como contract terminated?

Cesc Fabregas’s Como signed him on a free 18-month deal in January 2025. His only game came on 15 March 2025 at AC Milan, his first match in over two years, and he was sent off after nine minutes when a VAR review upgraded his yellow card for a tackle on Ruben Loftus-Cheek to a red. He was not in Como’s plans for the new season, and the contract was ended by mutual consent in September 2025.

Dele Alli’s mental health and The Overlap interview

In July 2023 Dele spoke to Gary Neville on The Overlap about his childhood and why his career had stalled. He said he was sexually abused at six by a friend of his mother, started smoking at seven and dealing drugs at eight, and was “sent to Africa to learn discipline”.

He also revealed he had become addicted to sleeping tablets, which he used to cope with his trauma, and that he had just spent six weeks in a mental health rehab clinic in the United States after his Besiktas loan.
